• Does anyone know of any good games for learning Japanese? The only one I've come across so far is Slime Forest (http://lrnj.com/), but it only teaches kana and kanji. :mad:

    I'm looking for a game that will teach the language itself. Any ideas?


  • I am making a game using the graal online format.. however such things would have to be in romaji.. because the game developer does not support kanji or kana.. One could however, use an online dictionary to find kanji that go to the word... If I had teamwork from people from Jref or some other people with knowledge in the japanese language... Them and I could perhaps make some kana and kanji for the game atleast enough to help a person pass the JLPT 4.

    Hows that sound for a game?

    This game would be RPG based. It would have weapons and the weapons would be fun.. It could perhaps be multiplayer if i had work from others... However multiplayer costs money. If anyone is interestn in helping me with this project send me a message. I'll even recruit Inuyasha the Kid.

    Thing about this game is that I will be very picky about how you are able to talk in it.

    If you are going to say.. I drink water.
    You must say it "I drink water."
    with the period and proper spelling.

    Also, there will be only so many japanese sentences you can say.
    Those sentences are essential and help you buy things in shops, obtain items, go into new areas, and so forth...

    I'd suggest waiting until kana/kanji are supported. I've always felt that using romaji (at all) after the first 6 months of studying is just detrimental. It's a terrible crutch.
